BULLDOGS BARK BIG!
The Haringey Bulldogs U12 team played their first match of the season on 12
Sept. With a very small bench (8 out players) they scored 7 goals and just
missed victory to the 13 strong Solent and Gosport Detroyers team with a final
score of 8-7.
The game started off with a bang for Haringey when new boy Almos Oroszi
scored in the opening minute assisted by veteran Andrew Franz. This was to
prove a popular partnership throughout the match. The game was played at a
frantic pace going end to end. Solent scored after 5 minutes, Haringey
responding with 3 goals in the next 10 minutes. Two from defenceman Solomon
Smith and one from Almos. Assists by Andrew and Jazmin Jones. Solent did not
remain quiet as they put two more in by Callum Marchant. Haringey put the last
one of the period in at 17 mins a nice combination between Solomon (assist) and
Almos (goal). Haringey were ahead 5-3 at the half.Solent opened the second
period strongly with 2 goals in quick succession. Haringey having caught back
some of its energy responded with 2 goals, one from Almos and one from Andrew
both asisted by Solomon. Solent pushed hard and scored a further 2 goals,
Haringey's short bench taking its toll on the players by now. It was all tied
at 7 going in to the last minute and Solent's persistence paid off as they
snuck an eighth goal passed the posts to win 8-7 with 10 secs to spare. A more
thrilling game we won't find all season. Great effort and spirit on both sides.
The best quote from a Solent Destroyer "That was the best game of my life!"
Great start for the Bulldogs we have shooting power and D with return D-player
Robin Grathwohl and winger Jhava Pasquini. We had two rookie skaters Joshua
Hudak and Rehaan Ghandi. Goalie Connor Mulhern also made his debut tonight.
With the few more regisrations coming through we should be up to a more
comfortable 12/13 on the bench so players can regain their energy between
shifts. MoM Connor Mulhern; Spirit of the Game Rehaan Ghandi. GREAT JOB
BULLDOGS - WOOF WOOF!
Next game October 3 1230pm at INVICTA (Gillingham Kent).
